Curious how others feel about the status, cost, and refund policy of the Verified Subscription Program after hearing Danny's comments on the broadcast today? Based on his remarks - which were just after Kassa Korley (new head of community?) spoke - it seems the verified program is effectively in limbo with no deliverables planned at this time.

He mentioned he'd be willing to "bring it back" if there was some sort of 100k signed petition. He also seemed to infer that the chess.com community was largely responsible for the program failing because of a lack of interest.

I found this all rather disconcerting and checked the Verified Subscription refund policy :

If you decide you don't want to use Verified after all, you are allowed a full refund within 30 days, the same as our regular refund policy, with some exceptions.
If you entered a CGC qualifying event, then 5$ of your Verified payment is considered to be an entry fee into CGC, and is non-refundable.
In some cases, a partial refund of Verified based on time used (50% refund after 6 months of a Verified purchase for example) may be granted.
If your account was closed for violating site rules, and you were granted a new account, your verified status is not transferable, and you must wait six months before applying for Verified on the new account. You may request a refund of the unused time left on your Verified status in this case, but depending on the reason for your ban, refunds are not guaranteed.

I believe the subscription rolled out 8 months ago, and was then suspended 5 months after that.

I didn't play any tournaments and I frankly don't recall many verified pairings over the last 8 months. I'm wondering what I paid for in that case? and further, why I'm only eligible for a partial refund after the community got no updates?

The intention was great, the support and marketing was bad, but the refund policy is terrible.

I'm disappointed and a bit soured on the whole idea of giving more money to the site if this is the modus operandi.
